Ear Infection During Pregnancy

During pregnancy it is not a good idea to take anything without a doctors approval and prescription based on a visit. Any infection including ear infection in pregnancy should be treated with caution. Any kind medication taken during those nine months can generally have some effect on the child to be born. Generally most ear infections are fungal infections. Ear infection during pregnancy can also be because of the cough and cold or sinus infection. This type of infection is very painful. Infections in a pregnant woman can cause hearing loss in her baby. They may damage the baby's inner ear. Ear infections and fluid in the ears may block sound from moving from the outer ear to the inner ear.

Allergies can also cause inflammation and the build up of fluids in the middle ear. This fluid can again cause swelling of the ear drum if infected by a virus or bacteria. In very few cases foreign particles in the ear are blocking the fluids with the same known results. Sometimes the middle ear space gets filled with mucus like during cold or other infections. The cold can cause the tubes to swell enough to become blocked trapping fluids inside your ear. This makes it an ideal place for viruses, germs and bacteria to grow and cause an infection.

Keep your ear clean and dry after taking shower. Pain can be relieved to some extent by keeping the warm water bottle or warm salt bag on the hurting ear. If you don't have coverage, ask the pharmacy and also look at throat sprays, popsicles and sucking candies to ease your pain and help you sleep. And yes gargle with salt water as well this help you feel better, but do not experiment any other kind of medications during pregnancy without doctor’s prescription and approval.

Eye infections

Have you ever woken up and found out that your eyelids have a gritty feeling accompanied by a sticky discharge? If the answer is yes, then you are likely to have been suffering from a bacterial eye infection. This is a health condition that causes the inflammation of the conjunctive (the mucous membranes that cover the white part of the eyes not forgetting the inside part of the eyelids.). Both your eyes or just one eye may appear to be red in color and the eyelids tending to stick together especially during the mornings while your eyelashes may contain some eye discharge. This infection is believed not to be very serious but due to its irritating nature, it may make you feel uncomfortable most of the time.

The bacterial eye infection is mainly caused by bacteria such as streptococci, hemophilias or the staphylococci bacteria. These bacteria are usually transmitted from one person who has the infection to another or sometimes the bacteria may come from the patient's own upper respiratory tract or skin where they are mostly situated.

Newborn babies often get this infection from the vaginal fluids of their mothers during birth. Due to their underdeveloped immune system, the babies usually get a severe form of this infection. Babies can also develop this eye infection from other forms of infection but doctors are known to use swabs to administer appropriate treatment to the baby. However, babies are commonly known to have poorly established tear passage systems. This usually makes them have watery sticky eyes. Therefore, you should be careful not to mistake this condition with the bacterial eye infection.

Genital herpes symptoms in men

Male genital herpes is one of the most common forms of std. sexually active men are more prone to contracting genital herpes as infected fluids are easily transmitted from one individual to another.

Symptoms :
Once the male genital herpes has reached a serious level, you would begin to see sores around your penis on either the tip or the shaft. At other times, you would notice sores or blisters located on other areas of the body such as buttocks, thighs, anus, urethra, scrotum etc. The sores start out as reddened blisters, which soon begin to swell with fluid, burst and give rise to sores. These cold sores and genital herpes itches are very painful and are the biggest contributor to genital herpes pain in men.

Contact spreading virus
Almost any kind of contact, where fluids can be exchanged can cause genital herpes infection to spread. Genital herpes men can easily spread when there are instances of kissing, oral sex such as fellatio, analingus, cunnilingus etc. or when there is anal sex or vaginal sex between partners.
In case of vaginal sex, if it is a case of male genital herpes, the woman can easily be contracting genital herpes because she is more prone to getting the genital herpes infection. Even a simple act of kissing can involve spread of saliva, which could contain the virus, especially if there are open sores inside the mouth.

Ear infection cure

Ear infection is a common occurrence during winters and also is the most common reason for a visit to an ENT (ear, nose throat) specialist. The infection is of three types, otitis media, and otitis interna and otitis externa. The first infection is a middle ear infection and is the most common ear infection in infants and children.

Use a sock full of heated salt and place over the infected ear. This will draw out the fluids that may have accumulated inside the ear. Make sure that the sock isn't too hot to cause any burn to the skin of the ear. In case of a swimmer's ear, you can make a mixture of water and vinegar (50/50) and apply it as an ear drop into the infected ear. The vinegar creates an unfriendly pH environment for the fungus causing the ear infection.

Before going to bed, put 2-3 drops of warm garlic oil into the ear after using a blow dryer to remove any water present in the Eustachian tube. Alternatively, drops of warm olive oil, juice of mango leaf, juice of grated onion or lobelia extract can also be used to provide relief from the ear infection. Colloidal silver is a natural antibiotic and is beneficial when used for washing the ears. Putting sweet oil and sticking a cotton ball inside the infected ear also works for most ear infections.

Alcohol is one product which has shown effective results in curing and treating ear infections. Its use treats pathogenic infections, reduces pain by its anesthetic action and dissolves ear wax. Daily administration of surgical alcohol (2-3 drops) in the affected ear has shown significant improvements in curing ear infections. Usually the result is expected within a week of its use and there are no precautions to be taken, nor are there any side effects.

Ear infection is mainly caused by bacteria and these micro organisms are 'base' by nature. So, if they are treated with something acidic, then this will neutralize the pH levels in the ear and cure the bacterial infection. So, squeezing 1-2 drops of lemon juice in the infected ear is just the thing that you need to do. However, make sure that you let the drops stay for about a few seconds and drain it out.

Urinary tract infection symptoms

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is a painful infection that a lot of women get. Although it is possible for men to get them, it is more common for women. This is because a woman's urethra is a lot shorter than a man's, which allows for the greater chance of an infection to develop. A lot of women get them by not wiping in the correct direction, which allows for bacteria to get inside of the body. Also, women might get them from going into pools or hot tubs, which are bacteria infested places. Those are just a couple reasons why women get UTI's. Now that you know the causes, how can you tell if you have an infection?

A urinary tract infection is easy to diagnose because of the symptoms. The most distinct symptom of this particular type of infection is the constant feeling that you have to urinate. Even if you just relieved yourself, you feel as though you have to go again. This feeling follows you around throughout the day and you can't escape it. The next symptom is a burning sensation when you come to the end of urination. With a urinary tract infection, you usually don't feel the burn when you start to urinate; it is always near the end. This pain isn't light either. It radiates itself all the way into your stomach because that's how powerful it is. The final symptom is cloudy and foul smelling urine. If your urine is cloudy then you know you have an infection because that is pus coming out of your body. These are all symptoms of a urinary tract infection.

Urinary tract infections can impact your life in many ways. If you are suffering with one, you already are well aware of how painful and uncomfortable it is.

Nail fungus infection

Nail fungus infection is one of the most common nail problems that occurs mostly in women. It occurs when the nail bed is invaded and thrived upon, by fungi of various types. Also known as onychomycosis, fingernail fungus accounts for almost half of the common nail diseases. It is a condition that may be difficult to treat and get rid off and this mostly happens when the conditions worsen due to ignorance and lack of treatment. This type of infection can also be highly contagious. Let’s have a look at the symptoms and treatment.

These infection symptoms include discoloration of the nails from a pinkish color to a yellowish or brownish color. The nails also turn brittle, flaky and break or chip off easily. The nails also become thick and it will be very difficult to trim them. There may also be and appearance of whitish or greyish patches, all over the nail. The skin around the nails will be inflamed and swollen and there may also be some amount of pain and tenderness in the nails. A foul smell from the nails also indicates a fungal infection.

Cure
Nail fungus infection may be difficult to cure and the treatment may also take a little time, but it can be cured completely. The fungal infection takes time to heal as it affects the inside of the nail bed. Apart from oral medications like Leucatin and Lamisil, certain fingernail home remedies can also help. An effective fingernail fungus home remedy is to apply vitamin E oil to the infected nail. Soaking nails in apple cider vinegar or white vinegar for around 10 minutes daily, is a good fingernail fungus home remedy. Also, make sure you trim the infected nails back and clean the dead cells regularly, so that the infection is completely eliminated from the nails. Exposure to sunlight can also help cure nail fungus. You can also try applying neem oil, lavender oil or olive oil to improve the nail's condition. Dusting the nails with anti fungal powders will also be helpful. Removing the infected nail completely is not the ideal fingernail fungus treatment, as the nail will regrow with the infection.

What are sinus infections signs and symptoms?

Our head has four sinus cavities. They are a very important part of our body. Infection or inflammation in the cavities can cause immense pain and pressure. Sinusitis refers to the infection caused by an inflamed, infected or mucous filled sinus cavity. Signs and symptoms of sinus infection are similar to those of a common cold. The only difference being that these symptoms do not respond to medication normally given for a common cold. Sinus can also be caused due to an allergy of some kind. People living in dusty areas complain of sinus more often.

There are times when a person feels that his/ her cold is not ready to go away. No medication seems to be of any help. Such people should refer to a doctor immediately. Allergies and colds that refuse to go away are sure shot signs and symptoms of sinus infection. A sinus infection should be attended to as soon as possible because it can turn chronic which may lead to unnecessary complications and surgery.

Other signs and symptoms of sinus infection include inflammation and redness in the nasal passage, redness and swelling in the eyes, tenderness of facial muscles, fever, toothache and headache. The toothache and headache increase on bending. Fever is a symptom which is rarely associated with sinus. But a combination of two or more such symptoms is a sure shot sign of sinus. The signs and symptoms of sinus infection are fairly visible and easy to detect. Some doctors also do tests like x-rays and CT Scans to confirm a sinus infection.

Though sinus can be easily cured by medication, surgery may be required in some extreme cases. Inhalation of steam and nasal drops also help. Taking precautions such as using a humidifier and proper cleaning of the nose can also prevent sinus.

Oral Infection

Oral infection can be any kind of infection that affects the tooth and some parts of the oral cavity like the gums around the teeth. When talking about tooth infection, this usually involves the nerves which are the geometric center of the tooth and feeds out through the end of the root. When these nerves in the tooth die, it becomes an opening for opportunistic microorganisms to enter and infect not just the tooth but the surrounding areas as well.

Any kind of damage to the teeth is the precursor to having a tooth infection. It can be through a trauma or cavities, but once your teeth get damaged, the nerves inside your teeth become vulnerable. Harmful microorganisms see this as an opportunity and will try to attack the damage teeth and the nerve in it. If the microorganisms win, the nerve of your tooth will die and this is how a simple tooth cavity or trauma becomes more dangerous.

Once the infection sets in, the supporting bones of the tooth and the adjacent tooth will be eaten away. This infection will make you lose one or more of your teeth and could also cause swelling of the gums around the infected teeth. But it is not just the teeth that will be affected. There is a possibility that other parts of your face may swell as well. If left untreated, the swelling could affect your jaws and possibly impair your swallowing reflex and finally shut off the airway passage.

There are 3 types of oral infection. They have their own different characteristics but one thing common about them is the fact that they can cause so much pain. The first type of oral infection is when the infection is inside your tooth (the living pulp tissue). This usually results from severe irritation or tooth decay. Normally, the body would send out its defensive warriors to fight off with the infection. But in the case of tooth infections, this is not possible. There is no room for the white blood cells or the antibodies and that is why they break down. Even antibiotics can't fully help the teeth recover from this kind of infection.

Blood Infection

Blood infection is perhaps one of the lethal diseases that one can never have. We have heard of cancer, AIDS, and what does not. However, the interesting point to note that what makes the blood of the most deadly infectious disease. Blood infection is usually referred to as blood poisoning or sepsis. This is a very common disease and it has spread throughout the world. Blood infection may occur due to various reasons. However, one thing that you need to remember that the blood infection is very serious and slight delay in treatment or are not available in the appropriate treatment can be fatal.

Blood infection is a process in which bacteria produce a lot of toxins in the blood. This leads to sepsis, which causes great damage and blood cells. This can also be a direct effect on blood vessels and, therefore, it would eventually cause damage to small vessels. These are the veins, which play a key role in circulating blood throughout the body. When sepsis occurs, the patient may suffer seizures or heart attack. This must be prevented by taking measures to counter him, and the appropriate treatment.

Reasons for Blood Infection

Although the most common blood infection is bacterial, it can also be due to a variety of other microbes such as viruses, fungi, bacteria, etc. will have our bodies, as some of unsanitary practices, such as hand washing or abuse unsterilized equipment in the hospital. Sometimes the infections caused by a virus or fungus in the organs may have spread into the bloodstream and lifts the toxins in the blood. This is what happens when, lung infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infection (UTI), the increase of breakdown, cellulitis, meningitis, blood infections, etc. can also occur when some of the transplant surgery, because these patients deteriorates strong medication. People who have suffered severe burns or injuries may also receive blood infection.

There are many factors that can lead to sepsis. These include:

Bacteria: an all-time biggest carrier sepsis or blood infection is usually bacterial. Bacteria are a normal thing our bodies. However, having proper medication or forget the bacteria can still cause major blood loss and sepsis.

Mushrooms: Another factor, which plays a key role in sepsis will be mushrooms. Fungi can spread throughout the body traveling through the blood. Therefore, it pollutes, and blood and cause sepsis.

Renal infections: kidney infection can also lead to sepsis. Since the kidneys have an important role in our body and are directly related to the blood, so the potential impact of suffering a result of kidney infection may be spread in the blood.

Surgical Infection: Many times, dirty surgical tools, which touched the life of the body can cause infection as well. This in turn leads to blood infections. Therefore, must ensure hygiene.

Generally, people who have a weak immune system suffers from the blood infection. It can occur because of conditions such as cancer, AIDS, etc. Medical care for cancer patients, such as chemotherapy or steroids to allow for a long time increases the possibility that this infection.

Babies who are less than a year old can also develop blood infection if they have some common infections such as fever and it is not treated in time and the proper medication. This is due to the fact that such a young age, their immunity is not sufficiently developed to withstand the potential for bacterial infection. And it's not very easy to diagnose a blood infection in babies.

Weakened immune system, the elderly and aging. Therefore, they have a higher risk of blood infections. Among those who are suffering from a greater chance of infection from the blood.

Recommended for treatment of fish diseases:

* Immediately contact your doctor.
* Is the point of view of infection (such as abscess in the wound) is removed immediately.

yeast infection

The human body is covered with yeast. This, however, does not cause an infections in most cases as the skin is an excellent barrier. However, in certain cases it do occur. This can happen when there are nicks, cuts, or abrasions. This is specially so if the cut is in an area that is moist or damp and warm. It survives an multiplies well in these conditions.

Each has its own treatment course. Yeast infection treatment is easy in most cases as there are a host of medications available. Some are over the counter medications, though it is always advisable to consult a doctor before taking them. The medications are of two types, though both work by weakening the wall and thereby killing it by causing it to leak. To cure yeast infection doctors employ either azoles or polyene antifungal.

These can occur in patients suffering from AIDS or diabetes or cancer patients undergoing aggressive therapy. And also people on strong antibiotics or those on steroids.
